This cosy, comfortable cottage sleeps 4 and is found in a peaceful hamlet at the Northumberland National Park boundary, about 1 mile from Wooler. It lies in glorious unspoilt countryside and is in easy reach of the splendid beaches of The Heritage Coastline. The picturesque, semi detached, whinstone cottage dates from the 18th century, is surrounded by farmland and enjoys wonderful views across the Glendale valley towards the coast.Relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the cottage and its surroundings. Walk from the front door, there being many lovely local walks. Further away Cheviot and Hedgehope and the remote College Valley are all within a good day’s walk. St Cuthberts Way runs 1 mile west of the cottage. Make for the coast, walk along the miles of sandy beaches and explore Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and its castle, Seahouses and the Farne Islands, Craster and beyond. Explore inland and visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Rothbury, Cragside House,and the Simonside Hills and to the north the Border towns of Berwick upon Tweed, Coldstream, Kelso and Melrose. A little further afield, and in day reach, are Hadrian’s Wall, the Tyne valley, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham and Edinburgh. Stargaze on clear nights as there is no light pollution. The market town of Wooler ,is in walking distance and has a good range of shops along the High Street, also x1 supermarket, x1 butchers, delicatessen, antique / vintage shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, post office, a library and Tourist Information office, Health Centre. Ad Gefrin whisky distillery / museum / shop / bistro opened Spring 2023. Enjoy pottering / shopping on the friendly High Street, well away from all the usual chain shops, take a coffee and sit and watch the world go by. Try the delicious Doddingtons' cheeses and ice creams, all made locally. Horse riding, gliding and a golf course are all available nearby and there are many National Trust privately owned castles / properties to visit. the county.

The cottage is part of a tiny hamlet and has glorious views of the surrounding countryside. It sleeps four, is comfortable, well equipped, tastefully furnished and has a sheltered garden with garden furniture. In 2016, the garden was enlarged a little and a new stone wall was built.
Ground floor. The entrance is at the rear into a modern dining kitchen with clear views across the valley. The large sitting/dining room is comfortably furnished and has a recently renovated large inglenook with exposed stonework and wood burning stove. There are plenty of books, games and jigsaws, a craft corner a TV, DVD and WiFi.. The modern shower room / toilet has a walk in shower cubicle, heated towel rail, Dimplex wall heater and shaver point. A staircase leads to two bedrooms in the roof space both with velux windows and lovely country views.
First floor. Spacious double bedroom: king size bed, double / single wardrobes, chests of drawers. Second bedroom: x2single beds and chest of drawers.
