Smashing wee cottage
We had a brilliant stay at Breaside. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. The downstairs main living space is very spacious, with TV and loads of books, games and jigsaws. The main bedroom is big, with a huge and very comfy bed. The second bedroom is smaller, but perfectly adequate with 2 single beds. Just watch out for the low ceilings and steep stairs. Wooler itself is lovely and we would thoroughly recommend Milan if you plan to eat out. We enjoyed it so much we went twice! The chip van in the town also serves excellent fish and chips. With plenty to do in Northumberland, lovely quiet surroundings and a perfect cottage, we all agreed it's been one of our favourite holidays.

Lovely stay
We had a lovely week in Northumberland with all kinds of weather! The cottage was very nice and clean and is in a lovely location with walks on your doorstep and local amenities just a few minutes drive away. It would have been great to have had a few things around the cottage (salt and pepper, tinfoil, soap in bathroom) and it could be better signposted (there’s a sign for a different cottage on the side of Braeside which caused a lot of confusion on arrival!) but overall it is a great property and perfect for exploring Northumberland. Would definitely recommend.

Idyllic country stay
Great property - clean, just as described, comfortable beds, lovely little garden, great location. Feels wonderfully rural with nature on the doorstep and great access to hiking, but only a short walk into Wooler where there are decent shops. About 30 minutes to the coast, so we had some great days out over there too. Hosts very responsive when we had a problem with the wifi (which was quickly resolved).

A fantastic place for a short break
We had a lovely time staying at Braeside, and found the cottage was exactly as the listing stated. The location is just remote enough to feel like you're really in the countryside, but near enough to Wooler that you're able to nip to the shops. The 'Good Life Shop' let us sample lots of local cheeses, and the 'Milk Bar' served the best ice creams for miles around. Not forgetting the delicious sausages we had from the local butcher - all in all a wonderful place to stay. Don't forget to check the fields across from the front of the property for hares in the mornings/evenings, and if you have a good lens on your camera you'll get some cracking photos. We had great help from Paul sorting out some day 1 niggles with the WiFi, and everyone involved has been exceptionally helpful. Thank you for a lovely break away.

Soooo relaxing
What a great place - so quiet and peaceful, in a brilliant location to easily/quickly walk into open hills and moorland or nip to coast. The fire was great and made it extra cosy. The place was well kitted out, including a library of all sorts, including lots of local guide books, leaflets, maps and games/puzzles etc. The hosts were lovely too. Only minor detail the height of low ceiling should be mentioned.

Lovely cottage, great location.
We stayed at Braeside in November 2023. The cottage is easy to find and the private parking space is great. The cottage itself is comfortable, characterful, cosy and warm. Although it's not necessary to keep the cottage warm, if you light the wood burning stove it will get warm indeed. It's well equipped and has everything you need for a short stay. The Wi-Fi is perfectly sufficient for keeping connected and streaming media. We chose Braeside because of its location and the fact that you can access the AONB, and various walks, without having to drive anywhere. Although the cottage doesn't have a dog secure enclosed garden the lane is very quiet and you can walk to open countryside within minutes. Wooler is a very pleasant small town and has a range of independent shops and a large Co-Op store for all your provisions. It's also a good location from which to explore the various attractions in Northumberland. We would certainly stay here again.

Fabulous relaxing cosy stay.
Up the hill out of the village in a little hamlet the cottage was just the right side of quaint and cosy with plenty of space and all the practicalities you need. Very spacious bedroom with super comfortable large king-size bed and smaller room with twin beds. Lovely log burning stove to use alongside effective storage heaters. Excellent bathroom with great shower. Lovely hosts we arrived to an amazing welcome pack too. Loads to do in local area we even went to a Christmas service on Holy Island which was beautiful.

Lovely warm cottage with great views
Easy to book through the letting agent, good communication with the landlord, we needed some extra preparation for our SEN child regarding bedding this was easy to do with the landlady Aileen and fully understood by her. The information that came prior to arrival was second to none about the area, places to visit how to find the property, etc. Once there Paul enthusiastically shared his knowledge about the area and information to help us access relevant places to visit for our party. The washing line broke whilst we were there and Paul fixed it immediately. I'd like to add that the cottage was very warm and cosy. No where is far away, the seaside is half an hour away bigger towns are half an hour away it's a perfect location with fantastic views. We would deffo revisit. 2 adults a 5 year old and elderly dog

My wife and I, our daughter and our Black labrador had an excellent stay. Paul and Eileen were brilliant throughout and made us very welcome. The property is a real home from home and a great place for a relaxing time. Loads of walks nearby and just a 15 minute saunter into Wooler for meals and drinks. Lots of attractions to go and see in the area but it was great to go back to Braeside and sit out looking over the lovely views with a relaxing beer and a book.
