"While we were a little surprised at the ruggedness of the trail to the beach, everything else was wonderful. John was friendly, responsive to our requests, a very gracious host. Lots of little amenities to make our stay easy. "

"We stayed in October and it was just hot enough to enjoy the pool and lying about in the crisp but warm mountain air. Property is sweet and check in caring. Space feels like a home rather than business, with generous touches of cheese and tomatoes to welcome us. Kitchen well stocked for cooking. Bed was a little hard after 4 nights. But all round we LOVED this place."

"Perfect host, perfect location , perfect holiday get away . Stayed a week and it felt so relaxing straight away. Great base for exploring surroundings villages etc but lovely and secluded area to come back to. Beach just a short walk away , edged with lovely tavernas , very friendly staff who will even serve you on the beach as you relax on the sunbeds! (Bonus no charge for sunbed and brolly set!) Highly recommend short drive to Matala and Agia Galini ..both fantastic . Brave the drive through...

"We spent a week here and went out everyday sightseeing and to different beaches, with lots of walks! Kamilari has a nice feeling about it, very friendly locals, some great Tavernas and a very well stocked supermarket. Not forgetting The Blues bar for cocktails! Vangelis and Tanya are really lovely people and the house was perfect Tanya even made me a birthday cake for my 60th!!"

Our host Eirini and her husband were very welcoming and friendly and communication throughout was excellent. "We traveled as a family: two of us and our 1.5-year-old. The room we stayed in was spacious. The beds were relatively comfortable, and the room was clean and well maintained. The biggest treat was the view. We had a room on the fourth floor with a spectacular view of the bay and the sea beyond. Breakfast was served on the top floor, and the dining area also had a spectacular view of the sea. The breakfast options were some of the best we experienced, including self-made Greek coffee and a self-assembled traditional Cretan meal, a hand juicer to make your own fresh orange juice an loads of other options for food and drinks. In January, the room was a little chilly and slightly humid, and this was an unpleasant combination. But thankfully the heating element worked well enough, and we made it fairly comfortable in the end. The staff were very friendly. There is a small tea/coffee bar on the ground floor which needs to be serviced by the concierge. There is no tea kettle in the room itself! This was probably the only downside for our stay since we would have liked to warm up some of the water for our daughter or had the ability to make tea ourselves. Lastly, there is a laundry business just a few steps away from the hotel. The man who runs the business dropped off our clean laundry at the hotel. So, keep this option in mind as you travel. As a whole, this hotel was excellent. Get a room with a sea view. It is worth it."
