Y Felinheli featuring street scenes and a small town or village
Visit this pretty coastal village where the houses rise up the hillside, overlooking dozens of boats in the harbor.

Find Y Felinheli nestled on a stretch of water between the Isle of AngleseyOpens in a new window and the Welsh mainland. Enjoy walks through the rugged Welsh countryside and along the coastline. Relax in the marina or head out into the waves for a range of marine activities.

Set out from the village on one of the many walks in the area. Stroll along the shores of the Menai Strait or head across the fields towards Bethel. Follow the public footpath around the village or walk the narrow streets to the center of the village. This still feels rural, with sweeping views across the surrounding countryside.

Go down to the beautiful Y Felinheli Harbour and gaze out across the ocean. Pull on a wetsuit and try kayaking, windsurfing or paddleboarding. Book a course and learn how to handle a range of boats, from dinghies to sail and powerboats. Stay on land to enjoy the marina itself and get some food and drink in one of the local cafés or pubs.

Bring your children to GreenWood Forest Park for a fun family day out. Ride the world’s only people-powered roller coaster and try the longest sled run in North Wales. Paddle your way through the Jungle Boat Adventure, climb through the Treetop Towers and play on the giant bouncy pillow. Watch children’s entertainment at the Forest Theatre. Visit the aviary and the petting zoo to spot the resident peacocks.

Y Felinheli is a 15-minute drive from Bangor, which has good train and bus links. You’ll have options to stay in a hotel or inn. The area has a large number of vacation rentals. The village is a 10-minute drive from CaernarfonOpens in a new window, which also has a range of accommodations available.

There is a very good Bistro - The Garddfon Inn, only a short walk on the level from the Hotel, which has excellent meals at great prices (but you need to book a table in advance).
