"Stayed in the courtyard area, had lovely views over the fields at the back. The room itself was a good size, comfortable bed and storage facilities were all of a good standard, just the bathroom needed a little updating as a bit tired. The breakfast was very good (perfect poached eggs) also had our dinner there a couple of times and the food again was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just 3 miles from Durham City Centre and surrounded by some stunning scenery . Would definitely stay here again if we were venturing up that way."

"The staff were amazing and friendly. We were there for a funeral and had the celebration at the hotel after, they made the arrangements so easy in a hard time. The onsite pub/restaurant had great food at a decent price. The cleaning attendants did a great job on daily service. The only thing I felt was lacking was an in room safe, when travelling from out of country, it would be great for price of mind. "

"Room 386 is classed accessible but it is furthest from reception and the lift. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties due to the ridiculous distance from the lift. "
