We visited Zafra as the first stop of our tour of Extremadura and were very happy with this hotel - historic building ( old castle and pretty courtyard ), lovely room , friendly helpful staff and had a good lunch from the cafe sitting in sunny courtyard ( including delicious vegan option for my wife ).Only a couple of minutes walk to the main square and cheap parking available just outside the hotel .Would stay here again - not too far from Seville airport , so very convenient after flight. .

Historic building with beautiful courtyard. Unfortunately we had ground floor bedrooms opposite a very busy bar/nightclub. Admittedly it was a Saturday night before Christmas however the revelers used the castle wall outside our bedroom window as a urinal. This lessened the vibe! Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean but could use an update. The town has nice energy.

Very cool castle stay!

Staying in a castle was quite impressive! Our room was clean and modern and very comfortable, but still retained all the character of the castle. We had the surprise perk of being able to explore the castle walls included in our stay - how incredible! The pool is also nice - very refreshing for the summer! But it does get shady early… Beautiful courtyard to have breakfast, but breakfast was a bit expensive for what is offered.

We've stayed at this Parador 4 times now but have never been welcomed back by check in staff. Also the room this time was small and a bit shabby. Still I like the old elegance of the place its just a shame the staff don't act as if they are glad to see returning guests.

Beautiful place

The inner courtyard is lovely. We had popped in for a drink when previously in Zafra so this time decided to stay. The beds were very comfortable and everywhere was clean. The breakfast was very good and we stayed for dinner, mostly due to the lovely surroundings. The service was very good and the food was fine though not outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My only complaint relates to the water. We were on the third floor and we had to waste a considerable amount of water before we could get a hot shower. This is very bad in a region with severe water shortages.

Beautiful place, but needs some org. improvements

- Great staff, but hey stressed terribly during breakfast (why?) which was quite disturbing. - Please hire staff that can some English, at least to describe wine and food - Time slot for breakfast does not seem adequate as it is a buffet. Skip it! It gives a feeling of old Sovjet. - Great spacious room, but miss a linen towel which you always get in Italy. - the kitchen needs some inspiration. The dinner we had was rather plain.

Hotel muy anticuado y con grandes carencias tanto en las habitaciones como en el resto de dependencias. Las camas muy incómodas. El baño absolutamente anticuado. El aire acondicionado no funciona adecuadamente. Lo único salvable son los textiles: sábanas y toallas de buena calidad. Habitaciones con orientación excesivamente soleada. La limpieza aceptable, sin más. No repetiríamos alojamiento en Parador Zafra.
