"The Villa Maria is amazing, we had a thoroughly relaxing time. The pool was very well used by us all but especially my 2 children, the Villa has everything you need for a stress free holiday. You definitely need a car as it is so remote but in our opinion this added to the charm. The owners Valmi and Andreja were fantastic throughout. "Es war sehr schön. Genug Platz für eine 5 köpfige Familie. Das Haus war sehr sauber. Wenn es Probleme gab, wurde einem sofort geholfen. Alles sehr diskret, es ging einem keiner auf die Nerven. Von den Vermietern gab es Gastgeschenke, was sehr nett war. Wir durften Tomaten mit ernten. Den Kindern hat der Pool am Besten gefallen und sie waren jeden Tag bei den Hühnern und den Eseln."

Clean apartment, every day asked if we need clean towels or any hygienic supplies. Cost for food in local store and in restaurants is reasonable . "I cannot recommend this hotel more highly. I wanted to stay in Piran but choose this hotel initially for two reasons: (a) it was walking distance along a promenade to Piran and offered free parking; and (b) it would be staying in a slice of history as the form of the hotel (though not the renovated interiors) harked back to the more brutalist days of the Yugoslav Republic. Then I got there - the staff were unfailingly lovely; the room was big (after several days of tiny rooms); each room has an expansive sea view; the breakfast was out of this world; and it was a beautiful promenade in front of the hotel along the sea. It was really a singular experience and one of the reasons that Piran was a highlight of the trip. My mother (70 yo) felt very poorly on the last night of the trip and was quite ill during the night. As we didn't have to leave to go to the airport until 4pm, I requested a late-check out. Not only did they give my mother the room until 4pm, but they didn't accept extra payment for the additional time in the room. Honestly I can't recommend this hotel more highly!"

Great central location in beautifully restored property

"The property is located in a small neighborhood below Beram just outside Pazin. Its central location provides easy access to hill towns and seaside areas of Istria as well as day trips to explore Slovenia and Trieste. The property manager lives in the neighborhood and always immediately responded to our questions or assistance requests. We arrived mid-September just as the weather became unseasonably cold. As a result, the bedrooms and bathrooms were very chilly as they are not heated. The property description should state that only the common areas are heated & cooled. While the accommodations are very good we would suggest the following to make renters stay even more comfortable: written instructions for operating kitchen appliances (microwave, stove, dishwasher operation is not self-evident); wifi is weak - install boosters; bedrooms need more clothes hangers in armoires (2 per room insufficient); add clothes hooks in bedrooms particularly in bedroom with only shelves in armour; add towel hooks in bathrooms (1 small hook in each is insufficient); wooden sticks/bars to hold shutters open to prevent banging and closing with the wind. We had numerous wasps in the kitchen - their entry point should be found and closed - the property manager stated that they probably entered when we opened the kitchen door and although we were careful and watched this was not our experience. We hope these suggestions are found to help make an excellent rental even better. "

"This is one of six hotels on the street - you don't which hotel you will be in until you arrive. Bad The AC in the rooms is poor - we changed rooms twice and the lowest it would go to (after many hours) was 24 deg C. Sweaty sleeping. No loungers at the beach (as advertised in the listing) unless you want to play a daily fee. Should be included for hotel guests. Ridiculous sign in (security) for indoor pools (each person must have their own room card and also sign out with it. Multi gendered change room for pools does not work - needs separate change rooms for privacy. Good Breakfast Staff tried their best to help us with the AC issue, but it was a building system issue that they could not fix. Chairs available on pool deck at hotel or sub lounging. Property, for the price is not worth it. "
