Our tour offers an authentic and immersive experience in the Ecuadorian Amazon, designed for you to deeply and safely explore the jungle in just 2 days. Unlike other tours, we combine adventure, culture, and nature in a balanced way: from guided jungle hikes, exotic birdwatching, and thrilling activities like river tubing, to the opportunity to visit an indigenous community and learn about their ancestral traditions. You’ll also have the option to visit the Amazoonico Rescue Centre, where you can witness the efforts to rehabilitate wildlife and return them to their natural habitat.

  • Rubber Boots supplied at the lodge. Available sizes 5 to 12.
  • Swimwear for swimming and for use in the Spa and Hot Tub.
  • DO NOT BRING FOOD of any kind: Food attracts ants and other critters to your suite.

Begin your adventure with comfortable transport from your hotel in Quito, heading towards the lush Ecuadorian Amazon. Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery at 4,100 metres above sea level, before descending to 350 metres into the tropical rainforest. During our journey into the Amazon, we’ll stop in a remarkable area of 357 hectares, located at an altitude range of 1,200 to 1,700 metres. Here, in the lower montane forest ecosystem, you'll experience a temperate, rainy climate with an average temperature of 22°C. This stop offers a prime opportunity to observe around 365 species of birds, including hummingbirds, tanagers, toucans, cotingas, guans, and many others. It's an ideal location for birdwatching enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, as the lush forest canopy is alive with vibrant colours and the sounds of the jungle's avian inhabitants.

Upon arrival at Tena capital city, then continue to Puerto Misahualli, we’ll continue our journey by paddle canoe on the Paicawe Lagoon. During the excursion, you’ll observe birds like the famous hoatzins, caimans, and the giant paiche fish. Keep your camera ready, as wildlife often blends into the surroundings. Afterwards, we’ll return to Misahualli Port by motorised canoe and head to the Ecolodge for a delicious lunch featuring fresh, local ingredients. In the afternoon, our native guide will provide wellington boots for a guided walk along Amazonian trails, where you’ll spot birds, monkeys, and possibly reptiles and mammals. The day ends with a refreshing tubing experience on the river.

Located deep in the Amazon, this centre rescues animals that have been victims of trafficking or displacement. During the visit, you'll learn about their rehabilitation efforts and have the chance to observe a variety of species, including monkeys, parrots, ocelots, and more, while gaining insight into the conservation challenges of the Amazon. This stop adds a unique opportunity to contribute to the protection of Amazonian wildlife while learning about the center's important work.

Afterwards, we'll continue to the Caiman Lagoon, where we can observe caimans, hoatzins, and other unique species of this amazing ecosystem. After a full day of activities, we’ll return to the ecolodge.
Tena
As we near the end of our journey, we’ll arrive in Tena, where you can choose to extend your adventure to Baños de Agua Santa in Tungurahua or return to Quito. Feel free to consult with our guide for travel options and schedules. We hope this immersive Amazon experience has left you with unforgettable memories!
