We begin at a local shop synonymous for their quality donuts––Do-Rite Donuts. From there we’ll walk the Randolph corridor, learning about the history of Chicago’s West Loop, a historic area which has gone through a series of revitalizations since its days as the industrial backbone of the City of Big Shoulders. We’ll sample the wacky, matcha-infused creations of a hidden-gem––Matcha-Cita cafe, where you’ll definitely need to pause for a photo-op! We’ll enjoy the over-the-top donut stylings of a newcomer shop trying to break onto the scene, Voodoo Donuts, a Portland transplant featuring indulgent flavours and unexpected toppings. Finally, we’ll stroll through a magical, old-time brickwork alley laden with beautiful, floral street-art, before emerging at Sawada Coffee, owned by the world renown latte artist, Hiroshi Sawada. Throughout our journey, we’ll provide anecdotes and history of each of the locations, the surrounding area as well as Chicago history in general.
