This is a great 3 day tour of the Garden Route. You start by seeing the African Penguins at Betty's Bay before you go on a tour of Hermanus, one of the most beautiful coastal towns. On this tour, you are mainly based in Knysna, the centre of the Garden Route. You tour the Knysna Heads, the Knysna Quays Waterfront, Plattenberg Bay and many others. Betty's Bay

We depart from Cape Town at 8am and travel on the very scenic route, the Whale Coast Route, until we reach Betty's Bay where we see the African Penguins. Betty's Bay is a small coastal town located in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is home to a colony of African Penguins, also known as Jackass Penguins, which are the only penguin species found on the African continent. Betty’s Bay is also known as Stony Point Penguin Colony. There is a huge population of the African Penguin. The penguins can be seen up close as they waddle around, swim in the nearby ocean, and nest in the shelter of the surrounding vegetation.
Hermanus

From Betty's Bay we travel another 30 minutes to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of the world. Hermanus is one of the most beautiful coastal towns. Here we take a tour of the town. Hermanus is a seaside town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, known for its stunning natural beauty, whale watching, and charming small-town atmosphere. Hermanus is known as one of the best places in the world for land-based whale watching. Southern right whales visit the town's shores from June to December each year, and visitors can see these majestic creatures from the cliffs and beaches in and around the town.

From Hermanus we continue to Swellendam, then further to Mossel Bay and Wilderness before we finally reach Knysna where we spend the 2 nights.

After breakfast we trave a short 30 minutes from Knysna to Plettenberg Bay. We do a tour of Plettenberg Bay, a very modern Garden Route town. Plettenberg Bay is a beautiful coastal town located along the Garden Route of South Africa. It is known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush green forests. The town offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as hiking, surfing, and whale watching, making it a popular destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers. Still in Plettenberg Bay, we visit the Robberg Nature Reserve where we do some hiking. Robberg Nature Reserve is a stunning coastal reserve located in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. It covers an area of approximately 600 hectares and is renowned for its rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and diverse marine and terrestrial wildlife. The reserve is home to a wide range of animals, including Cape fur seals, dolphins, whales, and various bird species. Robberg Nature Reserve has several well-marked trails that offer breathtaking views of the coastline and the surrounding landscape. The trails range in difficulty from easy to challenging, so there is something for hikers of all levels. One of the highlights of the reserve is the Robberg Peninsula, a rocky headland that juts out into the ocean and offers spectacular views of the sea and the surrounding coastline. Knysna Heads

From Robberg Nature Reserve we go back to Knysna and straight to Knysna Heads. Here there are some stunning views of Knysna and excellent photo opportunities. Knysna Heads refers to two large cliffs that guard the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon, a popular tourist destination in the Western Cape province of South Africa. These cliffs are located on either side of a narrow channel that connects the lagoon to the Indian Ocean. The eastern head is a publicly accessible nature reserve that offers scenic viewpoints, hiking trails, and picnic areas. The western head is a private nature reserve that is not open to the public. The area around Knysna Heads is known for its rich biodiversity and is home to a variety of bird species, marine life, and vegetation.
The Waterfront Knysna Quays

We end the day relaxing at the Knysna Quays Waterfront as we watch the sun set. Breathtaking views of Knysna, crystal blue waters and and and. There really are no words to describe how stunning the views are. The Waterfront is a chilled out extension of Knysna. A scenic view of the harbour with quite a number of yachts make it a scenery. A good number of restaurants from cafes to great restaurants, one can easily spend 2-3 hours here, you can also book some rides on the lagoon.
Day 3: Depart from Knysna after breakfast to begin journey back to Cape Town stopping over at Benguela Cove Wine Estate

We depart from Knysna after breakfast and head to Benguela Cove Wine Estate where we do a 5 star wine tasting experience of some of the best wines in South Africa. We test 5 different wines. Benguela Cove Wine Estate is a stunning vineyard located in the Walker Bay region of South Africa. The estate is situated on the banks of the Bot River Lagoon and boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and ocean.
