We will pass through the city of Cobán in the department of Alta Verapaz. The Verapaces area is a fascinating destination in Guatemala, full of charms and mysteries. During this part of the tour you will appreciate its lush landscapes, with green hills, waterfalls and crystal clear rivers. The wet and cool climate creates a perfect environment for nature. Coban is the heart of the Q'eqchi' people, and offers a rich cultural heritage. San Pedro Carchá is a municipality full of history and culture in the department of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. San Pedro Carchá is known for its rich cultural heritage of the Q'eqchi' people, who have preserved their traditions, language and customs over the centuries. The village was founded in 1537. San Pedro Carchá is one of the largest producers of cardamom in the world, which has a significant impact on the national economy of Guatemala, during our tour you will be able to observe these plantations.

We will arrive at our destination for the day, Semuc Champey, I can assure you that it will be an unforgettable experience of the beauties that nature has for us. The stunning turquoise pools in the middle of the jungle, perfect for swimming and relaxing in its crystal clear waters. You can observe a unique natural phenomenon where the Cahabón River flows under a stone bridge, creating the pools on the surface. We will have time for a challenging but rewarding hike to the viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the pools.

After breakfast we will move to the entrance of the Kanba caves, where we will enter the depths of the earth and an underground river will guide us to walk these impressive vaults, pools and underground passageways. If someone in the group does not want to do this activity, you can choose between spending more time in Semuc Champey or enjoying nature on the hotel premises.
Rio Cahabon
