What you can expect

Starting from small harbour of Marathi, we will cruise close to the bay of Souda and the islet opposite Marathi. Then, we’ll make a brief stop at Aspra Beach and continue to cross the natural bay of Souda to visit Kalyves Area, a beautiful beach with sand stretching approximately 500 metres. Our next stop is Almyrida Beach, very close to Kalyves, a picturesque village reminiscent of old fishing villages, a tranquil place even in the summer. Next, we’ll visit Koutalas Beach and the cave nearby. Koutalas beach is formed at the exit of a small gorge and nestled in a narrow bay with large caves on the sides. Continuing at Cape Drepano, we’ll see the underwater cave of elephants, and looking up, we’ll spot an old lighthouse standing proudly, keeping company to the sailors crossing the Cretan Sea. Next, we’ll take a short ride back towards the side of Cape Drepano, stopping at Crique de Souda (Kamares) in a small picturesque cove just outside the Marathi port. Then, we’ll head towards Seitan Limania or Stefanos Seitan Beach, one of the three coves created by the sea in the Cape area. The name is of Turkish origin, from the period of Turkish rule on the island, and means devilish (Devilish/Cursed Harbours).
Our next stop is Katholiko Beach, a small paradise cove that one can discover by land after passing through the Katholiko Gorge, located in Cape Chania, crossing it from the Monastery of Gouverneto. We’ll explore it from the sea, of course. Our last stop is Zorba’s Beach in Stavros, Cape’s Cross. At Stavros Beach, with the characteristic hill of the area as a backdrop, Zorba danced the famous Greek syrtaki to the music of the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis.
