What you can expect

On this unique guided hike, embark on a relaxed stroll around the town of Mödling with an alpaca or llama in hand. Walk along forest paths and through vineyards with your furry companions. Along the way, pause for a short break to take in the views.

Everyone receives their own alpaca/llama. Alpacas included if wanted. Exchange of animals during walk possible if you want to.

Begin your tour at the alpaca and llama farm, where you'll meet your guide for the hike and get acquainted with your four-footed hiking companion. Once you've made introductions with the alpacas and llamas, all named after Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Middle Earth characters, set out on your hike.

Next, take in the sights of Mödling's charming countryside. Your alpaca or llama will keep pace with you as you walk with a leash in hand. After you've hiked a while, pause for a quick rest among the fields for some scenic photo ops.

Return to the farm with the group to conclude your tour.

We had such a blast on our hike and cannot recommend this activity enough! It was definitely the best thing we did while visiting Vienna. There were two guides who accompanied our group, and they were both so knowledgeable about the animals and the region overall, and they made sure we had a really great experience. The farm where you start the activity is lovely and you can tell the animals are so loved and well cared for. They have 13 llamas and alpacas, and all of them are named after different Lord of the Rings characters- it’s adorable! The hike is not strenuous (honestly more of a scenic walk than a true hike), and there is an opportunity to stop halfway through for a break and some snacks. After the hike you’ll get your own “llama license” with a picture of the animal who accompanied you on the hike, and you also have an opportunity to purchase some of their goods (hats, socks, etc) which are all made with alpaca wool. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The location was superb - it is close to Vienna central and the ambience is so serene and calm. If you would like to spend a morning in the countryside with lots of furry llamas and alpacas and amazing tour guides, then we highly recommend this tour! The guides were really helpful and since we were not locals, they translated the tour to English with no hesitation. The animals are super cute and looked after and very good with children. Good value for money!

We loved the whole walk with wonderful Company from Karina and her Husband. We loved the Llamas that we had the pleasure of walking with and learning more about where they come from and what wonderful animals they are. Very curious, very intelligent and probably the best two hours we spent in Vienna. You will love this walk; it's really worth going and enjoying!
