Austin Red River Street Food Walking Tour
To begin your tour, your guide will meet you outside of Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Centre (ESB-MACC), which is dedicated to the preservation, creation, presentation, and promotion of the cultural arts of Mexican Americans and Latino cultures.
You will then walk through the Rainey Street Historic District, which is dominated by renovated houses turned into bungalow bars. You will then begin your walk towards your first food stop.
Your first sample will be sausage macaroni & cheese. This comfort food is the perfect entry into your BBQ journey. When you are finished eating, you will head to the Colorado River and The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, which is famous for the world’s largest urban bat colony that resides under it.
Next, you will head to the second food stop for a pulled pork sandwich. This handheld snack is sure to impress your taste buds! You will receive a shaved ice treat at your next stop that tastes amazing and will cool you down from your walk in the Austin heat.
From here, you will continue towards your last food stop down Red River Cultural District, which is a creative community providing authentic Austin experiences through diverse local music, art and food for every fan and guest. This culture hub is essential to visit during your time in Austin.
At your last stop, you will get the chance to enjoy your choice of an incredibly flavourful smoked meat. Choose from items such as pork, beef brisket, chicken and more!
