Know before you book

  • Red Line: First departure form Stop 1 at 9am, last departure from Stop 1 at 5pm. Duration - 90 minutes. Buses run every 10 - 20 minutes. Green Line: First departure from Stop 1 at 9am, last departure from Stop 1 at 5pm. Duration - 50 minutes. Buses run every 10 - 20 minutes
  • All tickets will have the boat tour included until 5pm. If customers wish to take the boat tour after 5pm then a small surcharge will need to be paid locally
  • Boat tour departures included in all tickets: 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 4:30pm and 5pm. Please note that the boat tour that will depart at 5pm may be overcrowded. It is advised that customers arrive 30 minutes prior to departure
  • Evening boat tour departures (available for a small surcharge payable locally): 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 9:30pm. A valid hop-on hop-off ticket must be presented for the purchase
  • Please note that the boat tour runs daily from April - October. Tours depart from Dock no. 6, Duna Korzo in front of the Marriott Hotel. Duration - 60 minutes. Please note that a minimum of 10 passengers is required for the boat tour
  • Walking tour starts every day at 11:00 AM from stop #1, St. Stephen's Basilica, ends at the Chain Bridge on the Pest side, at stop #2. Duration is 1 hour walking through areas the buses can not cover. St. Stephen Basilica, Parlament, Shoes on the Danube, Váci Fashion Street, Promenade.
  • Meeting Point for the walking tour is Budapest, Szent István tér 1, 1051 Hungary.
  • Mobile and printed paper vouchers are both accepted on this tour and can be redeemed at any of the stops along the route. Vouchers can be used any day within 12 months of travel date selected at check-out
  • In accordance with EU regulations about consumer rights, activities services are not subject to the right of withdrawal. Supplier cancellation policy will apply.

I have to say firstly this bad experience was no fault of Expedias but I booked a hop on hop off bus tour not knowing there was a European summit in Budapest city centre! Because of this lots of roads were closed due to security, the traffic when on the bus hardly moved due to road closures elsewhere and in the outer routes the buses were only running every hour instead of every 20mins and due to us being stuck near the spas we unfortunately missed the river cruise! An absolute waste of money and ruined a very valuable day!

I paid the red one because it has more things but you can use all busses from other companies with a better price... the audio descripcion is incorrect. Two stops closed and the majority of the busses has the roof cover.

I purchased tickets through Expedia for a Budapest tour. On May 6th, at 10am, a representative at the Szert Gellert Ter muegyetem stop was rude. Despite my husband being deaf, he scolded us for not responding to his greeting, assuming we were American. His behavior was disrespectful and unacceptable. Management should address this issue promptly.

We really enjoyed this experience in Budapest! Buses were frequent and usually there was an agent at every stop to answer questions. We really loved the free evening boat ride along the Danube. The lights were beautiful. The free walking tour was also very good but much longer than one hour. We had to leave before we got to the parliament building, as we had another commitment. So plan at least 2 hrs for this walking tour.

Hop On - Hop Off if our go to tours soon we visit cities. Great way to get a good overview and this was no different. We bought our tickets in advance and printed off our tickets to be scanned. They said can be redeemed at any stop. When we approached ticket stands and asked gor help and directions, they ALL wanted to sell us tickets. When we said we had them already bought they didn't want to know us. Very rude. And none wanted to redeem our vouchers, saying we had to go to the main office. I dug my heels I and firmly told them no. That persuaded them to accept our tickets. The tours themselves were excellent and the staff on the walking tour (Sept 5th), boat (Sept 5th), and bus (Sept 6 and 7) were great! Really enjoyed the walking tour. Very informative and great sights. Take the boat tour as well, great sights and views from the Danube Busses were fun and clean, but every bus stops at Stop 8 and you have to get off and board another bus as the drivers all have their 20 minute breaks

First of all let’s be clear about something this is not the first time I’ve done a hop on and hop off. With that being said this was the most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had. We arrived to Budapest by train and they say that there is a stop at the Keleti train station, but it’s so hard to find the stop. There is no sign indicating where to go. We walked more than half a mile looking for the stop and after asking two different people for directions we finally made it to the stop. We literally wasted an hour looking for the stop and it was almost 100 degrees. We couldn’t even do the entire route because the bus leaves you so far from the places you want to see. To see the parliament it’s a long walk from the station, but the worse was trying to find the boat, which by the way I just did it because it was included in the ticket because there is not a lot to see. This hop on and hop off was such a rip off and I’m seriously considering asking for a refund.

Always use these buses because they are so useful. Would recommend for Budapest because it is a sprawling city. The PA system on the buses was a bit ropey so the tour information was a little unclear at times.

It was during Easter holiday break, No professional and customer friendly attitude. Well covered Routes in all the important sight seeing places and every 20 to 30 minutes . Only problem was during cold weather where in the troop top are covered with plastic sheeting making poor visibility due foggines. Worthiness is good
