When spoken about Struga, people often refer it as the North Macedonian city of poetry and bridges, due the fact that the largest poetry gathering of the world is held here. Known as the Struga Poetry Evenings, whose laureates have included several Nobel Prize for Literature winners.
In the heart of the city of Struga, our first stop in will be at the local market. Here you can taste different products which are produced in the gardens of the local residents. After visiting the formation of the river and the city centre, enter the Nezlobinski Museum, where you behold a unique representation of the flora and fauna heritage of the whole Ohrid region.
We will continue our journey towards the self-proclaimed independent region of Vevchani. Where you will learn the truth behind these people and their reasons to proclaim themselves independent. At first you will cool down at the colourful springs of Vevchani, where the water flows fresh from the mountains. This water quenches the thirst of thousands of people and is drinkable at the springs. After you will have free time to explore this idyllic and proud village or / and taste a local meal in the famous restaurant of Kutmichevica while enjoying the view of the village and valley.
