While you indulge in delicious dishes complementing the star of the show, Biryani, the focus remains solely on mastering the art of this iconic dish.

The host grew up in a family that often cooked Biryani. She watched her mother prepare it with great care, ensuring the flavours and appearance were perfect every time. The host is well-versed in traditional Biryani variations from North India and also knows about modern restaurant-style versions.

Learning the intricacies of Biryani requires concentration and focus. In this 6-hour workshop, you'll acquire techniques and tips for an authentic Biryani, infusing it with rich flavours. Although you'll cook one type of Biryani, you'll explore 3-4 popular variations. The combination of side dishes will reveal how Biryani and its accompaniments have evolved over the last few decades.

Your host is dedicated to ensuring you effortlessly master a couple of Biryani variations, ranging from complex to easy one-pot recipes. Written recipes will be provided for your reference. Whether you're a passionate cook or not, these 6 hours promise to be a lifetime experience, filled with enjoyment.

The class begins around 3 PM at your host’s house, where you'll receive a warm welcome from a friendly family. Kick off your experience with two types of famous Pakods (Fritters) served with green sauce, an iconic old Delhi Street Snack, and your choice of Masala tea. An introduction to the star dish sets the tone for the next 4 hours in the kitchen.

Between 4 and 4:30 PM, step into the kitchen to learn every nuance of mastering Biryani. From frying onions to special spice preparation and careful rice layering, each step will be explained meticulously. While focusing on Biryani, your host has prepared additional delicacies to enhance your experience. Enjoy a Mutton or Chicken Curry Dish of your choice, two types of flavoured Raita, melt-in-mouth kebabs, homemade tomato and red chilli sauce, and more titbits. The dinner concludes with a famous Indian dessert.

This class not only teaches you the art of Biryani but also provides a glimpse into local life and culture. Engage in discussions about India, its history, traditions, and marriages. Receive tips on shopping and travelling in India. You'll leave with valuable learnings and cherished memories.
