Enjoy this guided tour starting from the idyllic seaside town Drøbak 30 km south of Oslo. Wander through the forest and along the coastal path of the Oslo fjord. Use the rest of the day to explore the great shopping and various lunch-restaurants in the town.
If you stay in Oslo, you can get to Drøbak by taking the bus number 500 from the centre of Oslo- the bus trip takes 45 minutes.
Meet the guide at Skiphellestranda, one of Drøbak's beaches, hike through the woods to Ramme Gård, a farm known for its beauty where you can visit the summer house of Norwegian artist Edvard Munch by the fjord. Total distance about 10 km (6 miles), moderately challenging terrain.
During the trip you will be served a homemade Norwegian style bun and coffee. We also provide hammock to put up between the trees on the beach where you can relax, listen to the birdsong and the waves lapping the shoreline. If you want, bring a picnic to enjoy at the beach.
We will visit the small ponds where Norwegians produced ice blocks which they transported to England mainly between 1850 and 1914. British people got the ice and could cool down their food and maybe their gin and tonics :-)
If needed, the official information centre Visit Drøbak & Oscarsborg in the centre of the town (Havnegata 4) offers free bikes to take you to the meeting point at Skiphellestranda, about 3 km south of the town. The guide can pick you up by an electric car in town if needed.
This trip will happen 3-4 times a week, more if needed. Group discounts available.
