Hi! Are you looking for an unforgettable adventure amidst the Swiss Alps, far away from the crowds with delicious homemade food?

As a local tour guide I would like to show you a magical and thrilling 1.5 hour hike above Wengen. It's offering breathtaking views of Jungfrau and Silberhorn in sunset time. Our destination is a scenic point where we'll prepare real homemade Cheese Fondue surranded by the alpine beauty. It's worth mentioning that the cheese fondue served in restaurants is not homemade, but unfortunately only heated from ready-made cheese mixes.

After a picturesque dinner against the backdrop of a sunset casting golden hues on the 4,000-meter peaks, we'll descend back to Wengen, soaking in the enchanting vistas.

  • Each participant will receive a small backpack with a few items needed to prepare Fondue, but they won't be heavy.

Activity itinerary

Hike in the peaceful mountains of Wengen starts opposite to Wengen Train station. Our destination is an amazing and peaceful spot above Wengen. There we'll prepare together the most fameous Swiss dish - cheese fondue. All that surrounded by nature, beautiful views, peace, and quiet. During dinner, I will tell you about the origins of this dish and important traditions in Switzerland. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the Jungrauregion and find out what is worth seeing in the following days. After fulling dinner surrounded by nature we will walk back down to the centre of Wengen in sunset lights. What’s included: Traditional Swiss Cheese Fondue with sides: bread, pickels, apples, mushrooms and peppers. Bottle of still water. Wine is not included in finner, but if you like you can bring some. Difficulity level: MODERATE * In case we can take a taxi almost all the way up to skip steep parts.

Weronica is fantastic guide. We hiked in Wengen in the evening and at the end Weronica made us authentic swiss fondue which will taste very different from fondue which are prepared in restaurant. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience! You can pick your hike ranging from low to higher difficulty and relish fondue with breathtaking views of the Jungfraujoch region and Lauterbrunnen. We picked an easy hike route and ended up learning a lot about the Swiss culture on the way courtesy Veronica :) Would highly recommend!!

We unfortunately did not get to complete this activity due to the weather but Weronika's communication was ON POINT! She let us know super early in advance and organised an alternative activity for us. Instead of a sunset hike she took us on a tour of Lauterbrunnen and the "indoor waterfall". Explaining the incredible landscape and the ways in which the people go about their lives in the surrounding areas also. She set up a cheese and chocolate tasting and went into detail about the regions and how the cheese is made etc. We had such a great day that we ended up having dinner together at her Cousins restaurant "The Bell" the soup was AMAZING and just what we needed after a chilly day exploring. I can not recommend a tour with Weronika enough. She is not only very knowledgeable, but very funny and fun. A great tour. 10/10 our favourite experience in Switzerland.

Definitely recommend the tour with Weronica! She was so nice and helpful from the beginning to end; from history details down to the best chocolates to buy. She even went out of her way to send these after via text. My husband and I had a lovely fondue dinner and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. The hike was absolutely amazing with stunning views! We also enjoyed the sweet company of her pup, Bonnie. Thank you for everything!

Weronika was one of the best guides we have ever had! We have been on countless guided tours but she keeps you engaged and gives so much great information about the region while on the hike and allows for places to take great pictures. At first we thought it may be a bit expensive but by the end we both agreed it was well worth it. The fondue was the best we had on our trip in Switzerland too! Do not hesitate to book this experience!

Veronica was simply amazing, she made our experience so beautiful and even helped us with travel arrangements to get back to Grindelwald. The Fondue was the best! We loved Veronica’s knowledge and many stories. I can’t recommend this trip highly enough.
