King Faisal Mosque

Established in January 1987, the mosque is named after King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the former ruler of Saudi Arabia. Sheikh Abdullah Al Khayal, the director general of the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, says the prayer halls can accommodate almost 17,000 people. Before it was the largest mosque in the emirate.
Al Ittihad Square Park

It is one of Sharjah’s biggest square, covering an area of more than 60,000 square-meters in Al-Sour district. The union monument is placed in the middle of the area and is decorated with seven oysters each with a pearl inside which represent each of the seven Emirates. The seven oysters surround the central pillar, which is crowned with a golden pearl symbolising the union of the Emirates.
Souq al Jubail

Designed in traditional Islamic style with arches and domes, Souq Al Jubail attracts more than half a million shoppers every month. The more than 100 species of colourful creatures on display provide plenty of fantastic photo opportunities too. The fish market is a part of the huge Souq Al Jubail, which also includes sections for fruit and vegetables, dates and meat. It is located between Corniche Road and Sharjah Creek, near the Central Souk.
Blue Souk (Pass by)
Popularly known as the Blue Souk, thanks to its beautiful blue tiles, this two-storey souk consists of two long parallel buildings connected by indoor bridges. It is one of Sharjah’s most photographed buildings and even features on the UAE five-dirham bank note. Shops on the ground floor sell modern jewellery, watches and clothing; upstairs there are arts, crafts and curios from the region, as well as stores specialising in handmade Persian carpets and colourful kilims from Afghanistan and Kashmir. Don’t miss the gold and diamond shops, mainly found on the lagoon-side of the souk. Alongside precious stones and exquisite gold, silver and authentic Bedouin jewellery, there are craftsmen who can recreate a design based on a photo or sketch.
Bait-al-Naboodah Museum (Pass by)
Built in 1845, Bait Al Naboodah is set around a sun-drenched courtyard with walls made of coral. The charming two-storey house features a grand entranceway, elaborately carved decorations and wind catchers‎ on the walls. Wander through the various rooms, admiring the craftsmanship and ingenuity of traditional Gulf architecture in an age before air conditioning, and learn about the daily routines of the prominent pearling family who once lived here.
Sharjah Fort - Al Hisn

Built in 1823 and fortified by three towers, Al Hisn fort has served as a seat of government, a royal residence, a prison and now a museum. A row of cannons welcomes visitors, with 12 galleries offering insight into the emirate and its ruling family. Step inside a round prison cell, discover how to properly present a sword to a sheikh, and pour over historic photographs, old weaponry and exhibits about the naval strength of Sharjah’s Qawasim tribe.
Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization (Pass by)
Situated in the historical heart of Sharjah on the Majarrah Waterfront, this fascinating Museum is housed in what was once a traditional Middle Eastern souq or indoor market. The new Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilisation presents more than five thousand exquisite Islamic artefacts from all over the Islamic World, arranged according to themes and spread over seven spacious galleries and display areas.
Ajman Museum (Pass by)
Ajman Museum is the emirate’s foremost museum illustrating life as it once was. The 18th-century fort served as the ruler’s residence until 1970, before it was converted into a museum a decade later. You’ll find the museum on the east side of the central square in the Al Bustan area. The museum opens from Saturday - Thursday (8:00am - 8:00pm), and on Friday (2:30 pm - 8:00 pm) and displays are annotated in both Arabic and English. The exhibits offer a compelling glimpse of Ajman’s past, from centuries-old manuscripts and weaponry to models of wooden dhows and ingenious irrigation systems. One of the most notable displays is an excavated cemetery discovered in the Al Muwaihat area, which features pottery and funeral jewellery dating back as far as 3000 BC. A section is devoted to the pearl trade that once dominated the region, while the fort itself is a perfect example of traditional Emirati architecture.
Umm Al Quwain
