Was looking forward to this tour a lot, and asked a question to the tour operator 6 days beforehand to confirm a pickup and drop off location. I followed up the day before the tour as well, and at this point we were unable to edit the pickup location on the website. The question was never answered and we were not provided the pickup location information until an hour before the start of the tour, the pickup being a 45 minute drive away and it was impossible to get ready and make it there on time, let alone not have the transportation provided as it specified that hotel pickup was an option. We never got to go and our money was not refunded. Strongly recommend that people do not book a tour with Paseos Olmedo as he did not respond to inquiries or respond to a request to reschedule for a different day once we were finally provided the information at the very last minute. Sad we did not get to experience Xochimilco as it was going to be one of the highlights of the trip.

Our experience with the Xochimilco boat tour was a complete disappointment due to false advertising and poor organization. To begin with, communication was terrible. I reached out to the tour operator multiple times across different platforms to confirm the pickup details, but I received no response. Finally, just one hour before the tour was set to start, they sent a message with the meeting point forcing us to scramble to get ready and make it there on time. Upon arrival, it was clearly unorganized and not well planned. We waited around for 30 minutes before being loaded into a van, only to then be informed that we wouldn’t actually be visiting the main Xochimilco canals. Instead, without any real explanation, they took us to an alternative canal, claiming it was a more “authentic” and “eco-friendly” experience. This was not what we had signed up for. When we arrived, the setting was desolate; nothing like the vibrant, lively experience we had expected. There were no other boats, no mariachi music, and no food vendors, all of which are essential to the true Xochimilco experience. Instead, we were given watered-down drinks and played music with no engagement from the guides. They provided absolutely no historical or cultural information about the town or the canals, making the tour feel meaningless. If you’re booking this expecting the classic Xochimilco experience: DON’T. You won’t get to visit the main canals, and you’ll miss out on everything that makes the trip special. The only positive was that the staff was friendly, but that alone does not make up for the misleading advertisement and overall lackluster experience. Save your money and book elsewhere.

While the people were very nice. This IS NOT Xochimilco. They were deceptive in what they promoted. They took us to another canal that was not what they explained in the services. Please make sure that you ask if you are being taken to the actual party area.

We were in Mexico for only two days, and I was really looking forward to experiencing Xochimilco the way I had imagined it: filled with trajineras, mariachi, and a festive atmosphere. Yes, it’s touristy, but that’s exactly what I wanted! On the day of the tour, we received an early message stating that, due to events happening in the city, the location and transportation had changed. Our booking was for 2:00 PM, but since we also wanted to visit Coyoacán, we decided to make our own way to the meeting point—arriving one hour early! Once we got there, we were informed that the tour had been moved to a different location, and they would take us there. When we arrived at this new spot, we were alone—no other tours, no lively atmosphere, and completely isolated. They claimed this change was made because it was the eve of International Women’s Day, and due to the celebrations, music and partying were not allowed in the original location. However, the next day we met other travelers who went to the original location with music and partying just fine! So their excuse wasn’t true, and if there really was an issue, they should have told us beforehand so we could decide whether we wanted to join or not. The Positives: ✔ Good vibes, and the team was friendly and welcoming. ✔ Unlimited alcohol as promised. The Negatives: ✖ Not what we booked. ✖ The location change wasn’t justified, and they only told us at the last minute. ✖ Xochimilco is all about the people, music, and energy—something we missed out on. Overall, if I wanted a quiet experience, I wouldn’t have booked this tour. It’s disappointing because I was expecting something entirely different. If you’re looking for the classic Xochimilco experience, make sure you’re going to the actual, lively location!

It was a lot of fun. Highly recommend getting at least one (of not more) songs by a Mariachi band. And there is more than one so don't worry if you think you missed your chance - you haven't! It's also like shopping without having to move from your seat. The vendors come to you but only if you want them to. I had delicious street corn. We also saw beautiful birds. Anna and Allan were wonderful guides/hosts

Boat ride was awesome, super accommodating, and the alcohol never stopped flowing. Live band took requests for traditional Mexican music (song requests cost pesos so just keep that in mind). Ended up with a handful of different groups between 2 boats, everyone was friendly and had a great time. River itself was beautiful lots of things to buy

My wife and I had a fun day on the party boat. Everyone had a great time and no one was too loud or bothersome. The canals were very pretty, and the boats were colorful. The only issue we had was that the guides on the boat didn’t give us any information on what we were seeing. In fact they hardly talked at all, the music was awful loud also.
