Built during British rule in 1940, the Uva Halpewatte Tea Factory sits at 1,230 metres above sea level in Sri Lanka's Uva region, near the charming town of Ella. Originally a modest operation producing 20,000 kg of tea per month, With a monthly output of 150,000 kg, a workforce of over 300, and a fleet of 40 lorries, the factory has become a major player in Ceylon tea production. Visitors can explore lush tea gardens, learn about tea manufacturing, and savour a cup of freshly brewed tea, all amidst the scenic beauty of this tea haven.
