To make a break we will go for lunch into the restaurant of Paul Gauguin Museum with delicious local food and stunning ocean view.
The restaurant will be a great starting point to drive to the isthmus between the two parts of Tahiti to explore Phaeton Bay, a famous South Pacific hurricane hole hiding dozens of cruising boats from all over the world.
Taravao lookout, situated at Tahiti iti points in Tahiti offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lush landscapes with two parts of Tahit Nui island - Tahiti east coast and west coast. We can observe the road we are going to take to folow Tahitian curved east coast with marvellous ocean views.
Following the north-east road, we will drive to impressive valley of three waterfalls, to get immersed into the atmosphere of old legends of Tiarei area and take pictures in front of big Faarumai waterfall.
We will visit famous Arohoho blow hole, where the waves crash against the rugged coastline, water is forced through an underwater tunnel, creating a dramatic spray that shoots high into the air. The intensity of the blowhole's performance varies depending on the sea conditions, offering a unique show with each visit.
During the visit of the famous black sand beach and public parc Venus point we will listen the stories about Captain’s Cook circumnavigations, the bread fruit and the Mutiny on the Bounty adventures, as also historical facts about Tahitian Royal dynasty Pomare, tattoo culture, arrival of great navigators to famous Matavai Bay.
