10 AM we head to the Moche countryside and appreciate the way of life of the Mocheros, both in their craftsmanship, expressed in the manufacture of ceramics, leather work, wood and stone carvings, basketry, and others, and in their gastronomy. It also allows us to appreciate the landscape where its traditional crops and family gardens stand out.
Finally we arrived at the huacas of the sun and the moon, considered a Mochica sanctuary made up of a set of monuments that physically represented the capital of the Mochica Culture since the 1st century bc. c. until the 9th century.
We will make a stop at the association of Paso horse farms “CASA ALCOR”, a place where we will appreciate the spectacle of Peruvian Paso horses and Northern Marinera for 40 continuous minutes.
time for lunch
Then we continue towards chanchan, made up of 9 citadels or palaces. Each one has similar formal characteristics such as: its monumental scale, very restricted access, the complexity and elaboration of its architectural forms.
We continue the tour arriving at Huanchaco, a traditional fishing cove, whose inhabitants to this day preserve many of the customs of their Mochica ancestors; so much so that the tiny boats called “caballitos” made of reeds continue to be the main work tool of the current Huanchaquero fisherman.
