No matter what kind of trekking tour you want to experience, the Ban Sida day trek with two options of easy and more challenge one can make you satisfied. Let’s join in the great hiking through dreamlike farmland and dense forests as well as exploring a number of different ethnic groups including the Sida who have only two villages in the whole of Laos!
We begin with an early start and transfer to the Lanten Village of Ban Nam Dee. Here we begin by learning a bit about the village before heading off up into the hills. The trail leads us on an exhilarating adventure as we hike through forests, fields, terraced rice paddies and across streams. For lunch there are two options, you can either enjoy a picnic lunch in a hut amongst the rice paddies or eat in a house of one of the villagers.
After lunch we visit Ban Sida village where we take some time to learn about the life of this tiny ethnic minority group, and listen to some fascinating stories that the villagers have to tell. After our time in the village we are left with two options, either the easy option which returns via the same way we came or a more challenging option which takes us up from Ban Sida along a ridge which offers some breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains before descending through the forest to the Lanten village of Ban Nam Dee. Here you can spend some time to rest at the village's waterfall which is a great place to enjoy a natural refreshing shower so be sure to bring clothes to get wet!
Approximately: 15 minutes transfer and 6 hours trekking
