Overview

It is a private and individual tour in which we take enough time for you to visit all the sights according to your wishes.
Salzburg, the Austrian birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, lies on the border with Germany at the foot of the Eastern Alps and was founded in 696 on the ruins of the Roman city of Juvavum. The river Salzach flows through the centre of the city. On the left bank is the old town, designated as a pedestrian zone, with buildings from the Middle Ages and the Baroque period. In the birthplace of Mozart in the old town there is now a museum showing original instruments from the childhood of the famous composer. We will visit The Mozart House, The Salzburg Cathedral, The Fortress Hohensalzburg, The Mirabell Palace and it's Gardens, The Hellbrunn Palace and optionally, according to your wishes, also the zoo.

Fortress Hohensalzburg
  • 4h 30m
  • Admission ticket not included
After 2.5 hours driving time we reach Salzburg. The landmark towers of the fortress over the roofs of the city of Mozart will be seen from far. The fortress is up to 250 metres long and 150 metres wide. This makes it the largest surviving fortification in Central Europe. The castle complex is located on the Festungsberg in the centre of Salzburg. You can easily reach the Hohensalzburg Fortress with the fortress railway. Several viewing terraces provide an unforgettable view of the city and countryside. The oldest part of the castle has more than 900 years of history. The first part was completed around 1077. In the centuries that followed, the various owners of the fortress - the Archbishops of Salzburg - continued to build on the castle. The money for this came from salt mining, the "white gold" had made the Salzburg rulers rich men. We visit the fortress together with the fortress railway, an inclined lift.

Salzburg Cathedral

Salzburg Cathedral dominates the picture of the old town with its striking, two-tower facade and the mighty structure. The baroque squares that surround it form a unique stage used by the Salzburg festival and recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The baroque building impresses with its clear forms, its uniform decor and the luminous facade made of local marble. The Italian architect Santino Solari created the most important church building of that time north of the Alps, which was to influence architecture throughout Austria and southern Germany. The first cathedral building was inaugurated in 774 AD. We visit the interior of the cathedral and the Cathedral Square, called "Domplatz", with its sculptures and sights, the scene of the famous Salzburg Festival
Mirabell Palace and Gardens
  • 45m
The Mirabell Palace in Salzburg's Right Old Town in Austria is one of the city's most famous tourist destinations because of its gardens. The name Mirabell is a female given name from Italy and is made up of mirabile "admirable" and bella "beautiful". The Mirabell Gardens were redesigned around 1690. The basic geometric shape characteristic of the baroque can still be seen. Its visual orientation towards the cathedral and fortress gives the garden a grandiose effect and at the same time integrates it into the entirety of the historic cityscape. The entire complex with all outbuildings and horticultural monuments is under monument protection and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. admission free
Schloss Hellbrunn
  • 1h 30m

Our final stop is designed to put some fun on your faces. Hellbrunn Palace - is the jewel of all the Salzburg gardens and is located at the gates of the city. This jewel of Mannerist architecture is surrounded by a huge park, the trick fountains and the Salzburg Zoo. Built from 1612 to 1619 by the Italian architect Santino Solari, the Italian created an architectural work of art. The trick fountains in the castle garden are a special feature. The engineering skills of past centuries brought about impressive machines, fountains and surprises, which amuse the guests then as now.
Zoo Salzburg
  • 4h
  • Admission ticket not included
The Salzburg Zoo is located in the south of the city. The 14-hectare area is part of the historic palace gardens of Hellbrunn Palace and borders on the municipal area of Anif to the south.
