The iSimangaliso Wetland Park was listed as South Africa’s first World Heritage Site in 1999 in recognition of its superlative natural beauty and unique global values.

Lake St Lucia is the highlight of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and is renowned for its large numbers of crocodiles, hippos, pelicans, and flamingos.
