Overview

The Isle of Man is a UNESCO Biosphere reserve and is the perfect location for a wildlife & scenic adventure. Venturing into the wilderness, you may be the only people for miles around. The Island hosts a healthy population of Hen Harriers, Choughs and Peregrine Falcons found in both cliff habitats and urban areas. Depending on the season various bird species can be seen including Gannets, Curlew, Skylark, and Tern colonies, along with marine wildlife, like Atlantic Seals. We will explore some of our protected and rare habitats such as the Ayres National Nature Reserve with its distinctive landscape of shingle, sand dunes and beautiful lichen heath where a number of Orchids grow. Every tour can be tailored to suit your pace, preferences, and individual needs including visiting places that are wheelchair accessible if required, so don’t hesitate to get in touch and discuss your specific needs with us. The tour timings allow for travel between points of interest and refreshments stops.

Activity itinerary

Douglas Head
  • 30m
We will visit Marine Drive with it's wonderful high coastal cliffs and beautiful views across the Irish Sea. An opportunity to look for Peregrine Falcons in their traditional cliff habitats. Choughs can also be seen along the cliffs near Douglas and the area is awash with wildflowers. We can also keep a lookout for any passing marine life.
Langness Peninsula
  • 45m
Depending on the season there will be opportunities to observe various bird species in this area of Special Scientific Interest which is recognised by UNESCO as 'one of the best places in the world to explore nature'. Highlights may include Skylark, Curlew, Choughs and numerous Waders.
The Sound Cafe Isle of Man
  • 45m
Visiting The Sound we will overlook the Calf of Man which is a Nature Reserve and have opportunity to see Atlantic Grey Seals, other passing marine life and a number of bird species. This area is exceptionally stunning with coastal views, rocky shores and low lying heath attracting a wealth of different wildlife.
Peel
  • 1h
A historic fishing town on the west of the Island with it's ancient Castle, marina and coastal habitats. Opportunities to enjoy the Black Guillemots who nest in the harbour walls and can be seen diving in the marina. Various Gull species, Waders, Eider Ducks, resident Bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic Grey seals can all be looked for here.
The Ayres National Nature Reserve
  • 45m
We will also explore some of our protected and rare habitats such as the Ayres National Nature Reserve with its distinctive landscape of shingle, sand dunes and beautiful lichen heath where a number of Orchids can be seen; many of the hedgerows are left with minimal management and so are brimming with exquisite flora and fauna.
Point of Ayre Lighthouse
  • 45m
As we visit the most northerly point on the Island we are now closer to Scotland at just 14 miles away than we are from the Capital Douglas. This area is known as the Northern plain and is mad up from sand and gravel that were deposited during and after the last Ice Age. The low lying lichen heath and shingle beaches provide a haven for a variety of wildlife. Depending on the season there will be opportunity to look for Choughs, Nesting Terns and various Waders and Sea birds. Atlantic Grey Seals are often seen bobbing around in the water or hauled up on the shore resting.
Snaefell
  • 30m
We will visit this remote uplands area with it's stunning beauty and opportunity to see a number of bird of prey species including the elusive Hen Harrier. The tour timings allow for travel between points of interest and refreshments stops.
