You will be picked up at your hotel in Saigon centre area by your army Jeep and guide to take a drive for 2 hours to Cu Chi Tunnels. After first hour, you will turn into small roads running through towns, schools, markets, rubber farms where you can have an overview of the local daily life and their activities.
Upon arrival, you will watch a short introductory video about land, people of Cu Chi during the war. You will find out the answers for many questions not only about Cu Chi but Vietnam in general. During the journey to Cu Chi tunnels, you will visit various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters; you even can explore the tunnels by yourself to have the feeling of living underground. Leaving Cu Chi Tunnels, you will visit Mr. Mushroom’s farm & restaurant. Mr. Mushroom is a chef, vegetation, traditional medicine and mushroom expert. You will have a chance to talk and share with him his passion of agriculture. He will then escort you to visit his farm with clear explanation about what he has been doing. After the farm tour, enjoy your meal with fresh ingredients picked from his farm.
After lunch, you will get back to Saigon by jeep, you then will start city tour visiting the major attraction sites in Saigon such as the Re-Unification Palace - the former residence of the President of South Vietnam, hear the stories about Saigon Government and the Autumn of Saigon on April 30, 1975; the Central Post Office and Saigon Grand Cathedral. After that you will leave the city centre heading to District 5 to visit the China town which is among the oldest and most interesting parts of Saigon with the large Chinese community has been settled for centuries. In Cholon you will see some beautiful Chinese religious sites and the bustling Binh Tay Market, and hear about the area’s rich history. Trip ends at your hotel.
