Our guide and driver pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the starting location in Siem Reap. The tour starts with a transfer to the floating village on the great Tonle Sap Lake. We will observe the beautiful rice paddies and the daily lifestyles of the local people before arriving at the boat dock. Here we board a powered boat that will power through the canal’s heavy overgrowth on the way to the Mechrey floating village. At the village, we don our safety equipment and then embark on our fibreglass Kayaks. As you kayak gently through this floating village, you’ll be welcomed by warm smiles from the humble Cambodian people who live on this fantastic lake. Get back to our Kayak Station (one of the floating houses in the Mechrey floating village) and enjoy the snacks, drinks, using the bathroom before we take a short transfer again by powered boat to the mangrove forest. Kayaking through the mangrove forest and watching the birds is the main highlight of this tour (in the low water season between March to June we kayak in the Open Lake Waters and watch the water bird instead). The forests house amazing photo spots only viewable by accessing them by kayak. Paddling through quietly increases the chance of seeing nature impossible to view by other means, your guide will show you. He/She will also explain the local village customs, and how the people there live, work, and trade before stopping at a great spot for a stunning Tonle Sap Lake sunset photo opportunity. Ride our boat back to the air-conditioned vehicle which will transfer you back to Siem Reap town and drop you off at your hotel.
