Activity itinerary

25 de Abril Bridge (Pass by)
You'll cross the April 25th bridge (lookalike the Golden Gate Bridge), a giant and scenic suspension bridge that connects the north and south side of Lisbon. It was renamed after the revolution day (April 25th) that finished the Salazar dictatorship in 1974.
Lagoa de Albufeira Beach (Pass by)
The Albufeira Lagoon is a protected area on the western side of the Setúbal Peninsula. It’s a combination of pine trees, beautiful beaches, small lagoons (the deepest in Portugal), and birdwatching. It’s a popular weekend beach destination for locals and famous for water sports.
Cabo Espichel
  • 30m
You'll stop and enjoy the impressive Espichel Cape (Cabo Espichel). This spot is the westernmost point of the Sesimbra coast where we can see frighteningly tall cliffs. There are a few buildings here, mainly built in the seventeen hundreds: a church flanked by two arms of pilgrims’ lodges, a lighthouse, a chapel, and an aqueduct. Espichel Cape was a very important place for pilgrims.
Castelo de Sesimbra
  • 30m
You'll visit the Sesimbra Castle (Castelo de Sesimbra), an old Moorish castle (9th century) rising 200m above the sea level. It’s impressible well preserved and from here we can enjoy unique views over the Atlantic and the Sesimbra bay. Inside there are two permanent exhibits on its history, a heritage interpretation centre, a church, and an old cemetery.
Fortaleza de Santiago (Pass by)
At the centre of Sesimbra, you can explore Santiago Fortress (Fortaleza de Santiago) that was part of Portugal’s coastal defences and a summertime retreat of Portuguese kings.
Praia da California (Pass by)
Enjoy the California beach, and its fine sands and turquoise waters.
Sesimbra
  • 1h 30m
You'll stop and explore Sesimbra, a small Atlantic fishing village. Sesimbra is about a bay surrounded by tall cliffs, turquoise waters, fine sands, and excellent seafood (it’s all uniformly delicious). At the city centre, we'll find narrow lanes lined with terracotta-roofed houses and a palm-fringed promenade.
Parque Natural da Arrabida
  • 1h
You'll explore the Arrabida Mountain, a famous protected area (Arrabida Natural Park) with many unique Mediterranean plants (olives, pistachios, strawberries, lavender, thyme, and chamomile). We will drive along the Atlantic coast, stop several times and enjoy remarkable and breathtaking views with amazing beaches and azure waters.
Convento da Arrabida
  • 10m
You can take a look at Convento da Arrabida (Arrábida Monastery). This building was founded in 1542 by Friar Martinho de Santa Maria, a Castilian Franciscan. It’s a surprising construction that is completely isolated in the mountain.
Quinta do Alcube
  • 1h 30m
  • Admission ticket included
You'll stop and visit the Quinta de Alcube. It's a family property founded in the 15th century in the centre of Arrabida's Natural Park. Is today an iconic local winery and a paradise for wine lovers. You’ll visit the vineyards, do wine tasting and learn about this familiar winery.
