Leave Xi’an behind you and take the high-speed train to Luoyang for a full day of exploring the historical sights of the region. Visit the World Heritage-listed site Longmen Grottoes, with its magnificent Chinese Buddhist art, and explore the religious monuments at the White Horse Temple.
In the morning, get picked up from your hotel, travel to the Xi’an Railway Station, and take the high-speed train to Luoyang. Upon your arrival in Luoyang, your driver waits for you, then brings you to your first stop—the Longmen Grottoes.
This site is one of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art and one of the most valuable Buddhist caves—with some of the most valuable rock carvings—in China. See more than 100,000 stone statues within the 1,400 caves and more than 60 Buddhist pagodas. Break for lunch before continuing to the White Horse Temple, the first Buddhist temple in China.
Be surrounded by ancient green trees and manicured gardens. Wander around numerous halls and courtyards featuring great antique architecture that has remained for over 1,900 years. Marvel at religious monuments and the stone statues of 2 white horses that Indian monks brought to China.
After a day of exploring, take the train back to Xi’an and return to your hotel via your private transfer.
