What you can expect

We will leave Mérida heading to the west of Yucatán to visit the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve, where aboard a boat guided by one of the locals, we will navigate through mangroves discovering some of the 560 species of animals that inhabit this protected natural area. Of which 300 are birds, if we are lucky, we will be able to spot tiger herons, seagulls, ducks, crocodiles, spider monkeys and maybe even an ocelot.
Celestún is one of the most representative areas of the state, where the most exotic species of the Yucatecan geography coexist, among them the pink flamingo, which reproduces from November to April, the ideal season to appreciate the courtship of this species and enjoy a wonderful spectacle with its peculiar low flights.

We continue our tour by boat to visit the Isla Pájaros, which we will border to admire its fauna, then we will enter the mangrove tunnel, a place that looks like something out of a film, to discover an incredible waterhole in the Baldiosera spring, which will wait to mitigate the heat by immersing yourself in its sweet, fresh and crystalline waters.

If you are a nature lover and you are passionate about photography, you cannot leave the Yucatan without first visiting this ecological paradise!

Important note: The sighting of flamingos is not guaranteed, since it depends on factors such as weather conditions, flamingo migration season, among others. The recommended period for flamingo sighting is from December 15 to March 15.

Finally, we will move to the beautiful beach of Puerto de Celestún, where you will also be fascinated by tasting the culinary delights of the Yucatecan coast in a typical coastal restaurant on the seashore, If you like, you will have enough time to take a dip in the sea, sunbathe and relax, walk enjoying the Emerald Coast.
