What you can expect

See the breathtaking beauty of Milford Sound and the Fiordland & Mount Aspiring National Parks from above on this comfortable guided aeroplane tour. Fly over majestic mountains, massive glaciers, alpine lakes, and lush forests for rare views of some of New Zealand’s most popular natural sights.

After being picked up at your hotel, board your flight, and get your camera ready. Your adventure takes off over magnificent Skippers Canyon. Below you, an icy blue ribbon winds through a deep, rugged gorge.

Your path takes you north to Mt Aspiring and the Volta Glacier, this is assured to be a highlight before turning west for Milford Sound. on this next sector, you will be mesmerised flying down “Glacier Alley” with the Olivine Ice Plateau, a unique glacial amphitheatre. Further west the massive ice of the Donne Glacier carves its way down the side of Mount Tutoko, the highest peak in Fiordland National Park. The dirt and rock left in its trail is a stark contrast with the aquamarine water and bright white snow around it.

On your way back, cruise comfortably over the rest of the national park’s impressive landscape. Thick green forests seem to spill into clear lakes, and quiet streams meander through wide valleys. Before you touch down, your pilot takes you over towering Sutherland Falls. Three cascades make up this 1,904-foot (580 m) waterfall creating an image that will likely stick with you long after you’ve landed.
