This tour is planned as the initial view of the city.
Montevideo has a lot to offer the visitor, so its impossible to do it with detail in one day.
I will show you the full city and the main highlights of it, but also we will go inside small areas with their own style and characteristics.
If you are here for a couple of days only, when you leave can rest assured that you really got to know all Montevideo in a way nobody does.
In the other hand, if you have more days to expend in the city, I will explain how this city works and how to move around in order than you can easily decide how and where you will enjoy the rest of your days.
I will pick you up in your hotel as early as you can, because our first destination is the “Old City” and is better to go early because of the traffic and crowd.
We will walk around some streets and historical spots there like:
Plaza Matriz, the Cathedral, the Cabildo, Plaza Zabala, Peatonal Sarandi, Mercado del Puerto, Plaza Independencia and the Government House, Artigas Mausoleum, etc.
Then we will go next to the “Rambla” to visit the last remaining of the ancient colonial wall that fortificates the city.
From there, we took a long trip along the coast visiting various areas, parks, and beaches.
Parque Rodó, Punta Carretas, the Lighthouse, Villa Biarritz, Pocitos, Buceo, Malvin, Carrasco.
You wont only visit the “typical” picture place, you will really go “off the beaten track” to experience the local approach and everyday life.
When we finish with the coastline we will go to the Parque Batlle and the Estadio Centenario, the Palacio Legislativo, and the area of el Prado.
It don’t looks like, but this is really a long run, and the possibility of doing everything will depend on how early we start and how much time we stop in each place.
Remember that the main objective is to know all so later you focus in what you were your favourites.
I will dedicate my entire day to your tour, so I don’t really have a finishing time, that will depends basically on the sunlight and if you are tired or not.
They are a lot of variables that we can do in our way.
If you want to stop to lunch, depending on where we are in the moment I can give you the different options you have or recommend one.
Also, depending on the day of the tour, we can visit street markets that are made in the different areas, or other kind of attractions like that.
