What you can expect

Embark on an excursion to the Arctic Circle for a chance to see the Northern Lights dance across the evening sky. Learn about the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which parallels the route, and stop at Finger Mountain for fascinating insights from your guide.

Your expedition begins with a pickup from your Fairbanks or North Pole hotel, (inside the city limits) then get on the highway for the long road ahead. Wear warm, layered clothing along with a winter hat and gloves as temperatures often dip below zero degrees Fahrenheit (-18 C) during this time of the year.

Travel alongside the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, which stretches for 800-miles (1287.48 km), learning about the impressive engineering endeavour. On the drive, marvel at the picturesque scenery and keep your eyes peeled for local animals roaming in the wilderness, such as caribou, wolves, foxes or moose. (not guaranteed)

The route takes you along the rugged Dalton Highway, cross the formidable Yukon River to make your way to Finger Mountain.

Finally, celebrate your arrival at the Arctic Circle with a hot drink, a bite to eat, and a certificate to mark the occasion. The Arctic Circle marks a zone at which the sun remains below the horizon for 24 hours on the December solstice. Winter nights are drastically longer, thereby increasing your chances to witness the awe of the Northern Lights.

Relax in our van as you head back to Fairbanks where your tour concludes at dawn.

!!Please note, that we cannot guarantee the Northern Lights sighting. It is a natural phenomena which cannot be predicted or controlled by anyone.!!
