Activity itinerary

Seljalandsfoss
  • 45m
Seljalandsfoss is one of the best-known waterfalls in Iceland. It is 65 metres tall according to the National Land Survey of Iceland and it is breathtakingly beautiful. It is a must visiting Seljalandsfoss when visiting the south-coast, you will not regret it!
Skogafoss
  • 45m
Skógafoss is possibly the most famous waterfall along Iceland's Ring Road, simply by proxy of being within an easy drive of Reykjavik and being prominently visible from the highway, however the falls are quite significant and make a very strong and lasting impression when they first come into view. Most of the filming locations in Iceland are easily accessible for visitors, including the famous Skógafoss Waterfall in South Iceland where the famous TV shows Vikings and the Marvel film Thor was filmed.
Dyrholaey
  • 45m
Gorgeous natural rock formation in Southern Iceland, located between Seljalandsfoss and the small but charming town of Vik. The rock formation/mountain is home to several species of birds and known for stunning views of the south. The actual formation is cut off from pedestrian traffic. There are two ways to see Dyrholaey, the road that goes up and the road that goes down. The roads are not fully paved, so they recommend SUVs for most roads in Iceland. The road going up offers views of the rock formation and the bird watching/nesting area (check for the season if your an avid birdwatcher) and the southwest beaches of Iceland's coast...the view is so expansive, on a sunny day you can see all the way to Skogafoss! The road going down offers a view of the southeast, and a different perspective of these rock formation. Truly beautiful views on all accounts, and a great spot for a picnic lunch.
Volcano Eyjafjallajokull
  • 10m
Eyjafjallajökull volcano is an ice-cap covered stratovolcano located to the north of Skógar (Skogar) and to the west of Mýrdalsjökull (Myrdalsjokull) glacier in southern Iceland. The area is located on about a 2 km wide pass of ice-free land between Eyjafjallajokull and the nearby Katla volcano with its overlying cap of the Myrdalsjokull glacier. The initial visual report of the eruption happened around midnight on 20 March 2010 when a red cloud was noticed lighting up the sky above the site. The eruption broke out with fire fountains when about a 500 m long fissure vent opened. Lava flows occurred and a minor plume of less than 1 km. Two new craters erupted about a week later, with spectacular fireworks of magma and lava flows.
