Visit Babulnath Temple - Mumbai’s oldest Shiva temple situated on a small hillock at nearly 1000 feet above sea level, overlooking the Arabian Sea. A shivling, believed to be extant on this spot long before the temple was built, is the main deity worshipped here. Interestingly, the location of this temple on a hillock is meant to be an earthly approximation of Shiva’s heavenly abode on Mount Kailash. For centuries, the faithful have climbed their way up 110 steps to reach the temple. In modern times, believers have it easier as an lift can take you right to the top of the hill.
Mahalakshmi Temple

Mahalaxmi Temple is one of the most famous temples of Mumbai dedicated to Mahalakshmi the central deity of Devi Mahatmyam. The temple was built in 1831 by Dhakji Dadaji, a Hindu merchant. The Mahalaxmi temple contains images of the Tridevi goddesses Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati. All three images are adorned with nose rings, gold bangles and pearl necklaces. The image of Mahalakshmi is in the centre shown holding lotus flowers in tandem.
