The Strand (Pass by)
"The Strand" is Galveston's original business district and is currently a waterfront entertainment and dining district consisting of pavement cafes, gift shops, taverns and other interesting establishments. It also has views of the Cruise port which caters to known cruise lines such as Disney and Royal Carribbean. Its a great place to spend an hour on foot for quick bites and drinks.
Moody Mansion (Pass by)
The Moody Mansion was built in 1895 and former home to W. H. Moody a Galveston businessman and father of a powerful Texas family. The 28,000 square foot home is available for self guided tour when customising EXTRAS at checkout.
1892 Bishop's Palace (Pass by)
The Bishop's Palace is a 1900s storm survivor built in 1982 by a master architect with ornate steel and stone. It's lavish early Victorian interior consist of stained glass windows, Mahogany stair cases, marble fire places lined with Sterling silver, an Altar room and more. It's exterior stone has countless hand chiselled creatures. It is available for self guided tour.
Grand 1894 Opera House (Pass by)
The official Opera House of Texas is a 1900s storm survivor where popular celebrities once performed and operates as a non-profit theatre today. Self guided tours of it's unique and lavish 1800s interior [travellers expense] are available when customising your tour.
Moody Gardens (Pass by)

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier (Pass by)

Galveston's 61st Street Fishing Pier (Pass by)
61 st street Fishing Pier offers pier access, fishing gear rentals and bait for those who want to try their luck as well as cold beer, music, soft drinks and snacks. Great island views from their upper deck accessible for price of a soft drink. Great place to spend an hour over the water and beach area.
Rainforest Cafe (Pass by)
Rainforest Cafe is a jungle themed cafe on the Galveston Seawall offering variety of foods such as burgers, steaks, seafood, full service bar, gift shop and amusements for kids. Great place to spend an hour on the island.
Galveston Historic Seaport - Home of the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA (Pass by)
Texas Seaport Museum is home to 1877 Tall Ship Elissa and located on Port of Galveston next to The Fisherman's Wharf restaurant where you can pick fresh fish to be served or tour the Tall Ship Elissa. Great place for an hour.
Galveston Railroad Museum (Pass by)
Home to multiple early era trains on 4 tracks to tour as well as snack bar for burgers, hot dogs. Great place to spend an hour.
1859 Ashton Villa (Pass by)
An early Victorian mansion and storm survivor now the visitor centre is where the June 19th Emancipation Proclamation was read from. Ashton Villa is also one of the many island destinations believed to be haunted by ghost.
