What you can expect

Spend a day exploring the dramatic settings where key battles unfolded during the Allied invasion on D-Day, June 6th, 1944. Get up-close looks at Normandy beaches where thousands of troops lost their lives to German forces and visit the cemeteries and memorials set up to honour their sacrifice.

Ride out of Paris after getting picked up at your hotel by your private guide and enjoy watching pastoral scenes blur past the window of your comfortable shuttle. Reach France's northern shore in the late morning and make your first stop at the German Battery of Longues sur Mer, part of the Atlantic Wall constructed by the Germans to prevent the expected invasion of France by the allied forces in the mid-1940s. Enjoy a guided tour of this strategic site and then continue on to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial to spend moments of reflection among fields of white marble headstones.

Reflect over lunch at the Ferme de la Rançonnière, a 13th-century manor house-turned-restaurant that offers delightful plates and light French fare. After you eat, make your way to Arromanches-les-Bains to snap photos of the remains of artificial piers used to unload Allied equipment. Visit the beaches where Canadian troops made their own landing on D-Day at Juno Beach and then climb back on your private comfortable vehicle for your return ride to Paris.
