Giza Pyramids Complex

The Great Pyramids of Giza

The Great Pyramid of Khufu, built around 2580 BC, is the largest of the Giza pyramids. Originally 146.6 metres tall, it's now about 138.8 metres. Made of 2.3 million limestone blocks, it's the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and remains largely intact, showcasing ancient Egyptian engineering.

The Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx, located on the Giza Plateau, is a colossal limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, likely Khafre. Built around 2500 BC, it measures 73 metres long and 20 metres high. It's one of the world's largest and oldest monolithic statues, symbolising ancient Egyptian ingenuity.
