Hamburg Town Hall

St. Michael's Church
  • 15m
The main evangelical church of St. Michaelis (popularly: Michel) is the most famous church building in Hamburg and is considered the most important baroque church in northern Germany. The sacral building with its striking architecture, which is visible from afar, has long been the symbol of the Hanseatic city for shipping on the Elbe.
Rathausmarkt
  • 5m
As a model for the design of the town hall market was the St. Mark's Square in Venice, which also opens to the water. The plan of the ensemble with an open staircase and the design of the Little Alster, Alster Arcades, Lock Bridge, Town Hall and other buildings was designed in 1842.
Jungfernstieg
  • 10m
The Jungfernstieg (from Low German Stieg for "Steig") in Hamburg is a street on the southern bank of the Inner Alster in city centre Hamburg. It runs from the Reesendammbrücke to the Gänsemarkt. Here it is a matter of seeing and being seen.
Binnenalster
  • 10m
The Inner Alster, which has an area of approximately 18 hectares, is the smaller, southern part of the Alster Lake with a picturesque fountain.
Speicherstadt
  • 25m
Hamburg's warehouse district is the world's largest historic warehouse complex, located in the port of Hamburg. It covers the area between Bäumenall and Oberhafen. It has been a listed building since 1991 and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since July 5, 2015 with the neighbouring Kontorhaus district under the name of Speicherstadt and Kontorhaus district with Chilehaus.
Harbor Piers
  • 15m
The St. Pauli Landungsbrücken are a large landing stage for passenger ships on the northern edge of the port of Hamburg. The jetties are located in the St. Pauli district of Hamburg between Niederhafen and St. Pauli Fischmarkt on the Elbe.
Alter Elbpark
  • 20m
The St. Pauli-Elbtunnel, opened in 1911 - also known as the Alter Elbtunnel in contrast to the New Elbe Tunnel, which has existed since 1975 - passes under the Norderelbe with a length of 426.5 metres and connects the northern harbour edge at the St. Pauli landing bridges (north entrance with two tunnel tubes) ) with the Elbe island Steinwerder (south entrance). It is used as a public traffic route by pedestrians and cyclists as well as to a limited extent by motor vehicles. It was considered a technical sensation when it opened, has been a listed building since 2003 and was awarded the title Historic Landmark of Engineering in Germany by the Federal Chamber of Engineers and the Hamburg Chamber of Engineers on September 7, 2011.
Reeperbahn
  • 20m
The Reeperbahn is the central street in the entertainment and red light district of the St. Pauli district of Hamburg. It is about 930 metres long and runs from the Millerntor westwards to the Nobistor (Hamburg-Altona), where it merges into Königstraße. The large number of discotheques, bars and night clubs earned her the nickname "the sinful mile in the world".
