Discover the amazing biodiversity of the Wet Tropics of Queensland! Drive north along the scenic route to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Observe the oldest rainforest in the world, walk along elevated boardwalks on a guided nature walk with your passionate, local guide and cruise through the World Heritage-listed Daintree River spotting crocodiles and other wildlife. Relax and learn about Estuarine Crocodiles, mangrove forests and wildlife - this is nature at its best! Enjoy lunch in the heart of Cape Tribulation and have a stroll along the famous Cape Tribulation Beach. Cool down with a refreshing swim at Emmagen Creek. Take a leisurely afternoon walk up to the Cape Tribulation Beach lookout. Then, on the way home, you are treated to a local homemade Daintree ice cream before we journey back home.
It's then time to explore the Aussie Outback by 4x4 vehicle with a naturalist guide who has extensive knowledge of flora, fauna, the history of the area and aboriginal culture. Ascend the McAllister Ranges and the Great Dividing Range as you explore the Australian Outback. Stop for morning tea at Skybury Coffee Plantation. Travel through historical towns and rolling hills rich in minerals around Chillagoe. See fossilised remains of the ancient coral reefs with hidden limestone labyrinths. Experience a guided walk through the Chillagoe Mungana Caves National Park. Millions of years in the making, the limestone formations are nothing short of spectacular. Your guide will delve into the history of the copper smelters, whose old chimneys dominate the western horizon, and experience Aboriginal Rock Art and the Balancing Rock. Enjoy an Aussie pub lunch before stopping at Granite Gorge Nature Park on the way home to see the rock wallabies.
