You will visit the most interesting and important corners of Samarkand. In the programme of the excursion:
Gur Emir Mausoleum — it is here that Tamerlane, his sons, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren rest. I will share stories about the life and exploits of the great commander.
Registan Square is the business card of the city. I will tell you about the medieval scientist Ulugbek and about the legendary tigers from the Sherdor madrasah. And I will also help you decipher the name of the colourful mosque Tillya Kori.
Bibi Khanum Mosque is a grand mosque of the 15th century, built by Amir Timur in honour of his wife. You will hear a beautiful storey of their love.
Siab Bazaar is the oldest and largest market in Samarkand. You will taste local sweets and learn how to bargain properly.
Shahi Zinda Necropolis is a colourful “city within a city”. A cousin of the Prophet Muhammad and close people of Tamerlane are buried here: his sisters, wives, architects and officials. You will learn how the necropolis was built and decipher the features of its architecture.
The bright end of the tour will be a viewing platform with a wonderful view of the whole city!
