What you can expect

Departure from Cluj in the morning, heading for Southern Transylvania. First stop of the day will be for the visit of a UNESCO site, the fortified church of Biertan. Built by during the 15th century, its grandeur reflected the financial power of the local community. Here the guide will present the Saxon community, starting with the reason for their living in Transylvania, their customs, heritage, daily life facts. By the end of the day you will also understand why the Saxon community is so limited.
Next, you will arrive in Sighisoara, where you will have lunch in a local restaurant and visit the fortress, also UNESCO. Chance to hear stories about Vlad the Impalor and his connection (if any!) with Sighisoara.
Get back to Cluj in the late afternoon.
NB. On Monday the monuments are not open for visiting.
