Become a samurai for a day in an authentic castle town! Try on a beautifully crafted suit of samurai armour modelled after legendary warriors like Oda Nobunaga and Takeda Shingen. Capture epic photos inside Sasayama Castle, and explore the charming streets of this historic town.
Start the day by meeting your guide at one of the designated pick-up locations: Kyoto Station, Osaka Station, or Sannomiya Station (Kobe). From there, travel together to the picturesque town of Tamba-Sasayama using a combination of train and bus. (Alternatively, a taxi can be arranged in place of the bus for more convenience.)
If you don't need a pick-up, then, meet your guide in front of Sasayama Castle. Choose “without a pick-up” when booking.
Once you arrive in Sasayama, head straight to the castle for your samurai armour dressing experience. Try on meticulously crafted samurai armour, and feel like a warrior from Japan’s feudal era as you step inside Sasayama Castle for a memorable photo session.
After your armour experience, enjoy a delicious traditional Japanese lunch in a local restaurant, giving you a chance to relax and take in the charming town atmosphere.
Next, embark on a leisurely stroll through Sasayama’s preserved traditional townscape areas. Explore the historic samurai residences and merchant districts, where the atmosphere of the Edo period still lingers. During this part of the tour, we can tailor your experience by visiting local historical museums, samurai residences, or even sake breweries. (Please note that sake breweries are usually closed on Tuesdays.)
