WHAT TO EXPECT

The DMZ (Demilitarised Zone) is the old border area that divided North and South Vietnam until the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. Some of the fiercest battles of the war occurred at places like Khe Sanh and Quang Tri. At least tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of North Vietnamese, South Vietnamese and US troops as well as civilians died in battles in this area. By joining this tour, you have an opportunity to understand about Vietnam War - one of the defining events of the second half of the twentieth century.

ITINERARY IN BRIEF

7:00 - 7:30: Pickup at the hotel in Hue city centre area and transfer to Dong Ha town, Quang Tri province. On the way we visit Long Hung Church and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.

10:30 We visit Dakrong Bridge in Paco Minority village. The bridge was the main access point to the trails during the war, and was bombed and rebuilt repeatedly throughout the conflict. The current bridge was built in 1974. We then come to visit Khe Sanh Combat base -Ta Con Airport Relic

12:00 Have lunch to recharge your energy in Dong Ha Town and take short rest.

13:30 Visit Doc Mieu Base. To prevent all sources of aid from the North to the battlefield of the South, the American colonists built an electronic barrier system, called Mc Namara. This place consists of 12 layers of barbed wire stacked with a height of 3m, above the fence with automatic smoothing and below the fence is a minefield hundreds of metres wide. In addition, the US troops also built a tropical tree system to detect the intrusion at the line of the line.

14:00 Arrive at Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai river - spend time to listen to its stories.

15:00 Transfer to Vinh Moc Tunnels. The Vinh Moc tunnels are tunnels used by North Vietnam army to fight against the Americans during the Vietnam war and used by the civilian population to protect themselves from the American bombing Explore the tunnel, an important area in war.

16:00 Get the bus to comeback to Hue city.

18:00 Drop you off at your departure point in Hue
