Guests see magnificently restored furnishings and decor in the home of the W.L. Moody, Jr. Moody built a fortune in some 50 entities, including insurance, banking, hotels, newspapers, cotton, railways, ranching and others. At the time of his death he was among America's 10 wealthiest people. He established the Moody Foundation and his daughter established the Mary Moody Northen Endowment, charitable foundations which today support environmental, educational, social service, and historical projects.

Absolutely incredible to step back in time and be able to view the Moody family's personal furniture, books, decor, etc The dining room is spectacular! Happy we were there during Christmas season and saw all of the decorated trees throughout the home. Would love to tour another time !

We absolutely loved this mansion tour. It was beautiful. My only thing about it, is online it doesn't offer you the 3:45pm tour. That tour takes you up to the 3rd floor and down to the bottom level, that is now a children's museum. We didn't know about this until the lady at the front door told us about it. But still all in all it was a great place to visit.

Fantastic tour with lots of interesting historical facts of the area and events through time with the Moody's and Galveston. Extremely knowledgeable tour guides shared many extras with us. Highly recommended tour if you are in Galveston and interested in the history.

Gorgeous mansion! The entire house is in perfect position and gave an amazing sense of what it looked like over a hundred years ago. The staff was also extremely nice and helpful. You can tell they enjoy working there and talking about the Moody history.

My favorite!! Wonderful self guided tour. Do the audio you learn so much more personal history of the family. Beautiful home. I’m so glad they have kept in intact for us to look back on.
