What you can expect

Skim the crest of a wave beneath the Californian sun with a surfing lesson for both beginners and intermediate surfers. Benefit from the support and guidance of your instructors as you take on the waters of Venice Beach.

Meet your instructor and suit up in your wetsuit. Feel free to store your belongings in the equipment van during the activity. When you're ready, pick up a surfboard and head down to the sand with your fellow students.

Spend the first 30-40 minutes training on the beach and get familiar with the fundamentals of surfing. Practice how to pop up on the board, learn more about the ocean, and end the land lesson with the most important part: safety.

Next, enjoy 40 minutes of hands-on training with your instructor in the ocean. The remaining time will be yours to perfect your skills and have fun on the board. After the class, your instructor will lead you to an outdoor public shower where you can rinse off.

I attended a group lesson back in October and it was money and time well spent - our instructor, Ethan, explained everything thoroughly, safety included, and paid attention to each of us equally (and there were only four people in total in our group). I’m not a sporty person at all but had so much fun, would totally recommend to anyone!

A fun activity to say you’ve surfed on the beach of LA! My husband and I decided to give this activity a try, neither of us have surf’d before. Surfing is not as easy as it looks but it was fun to ride some waves by belly surfing! Our guide taught us the basics first and then we had about 1.5hours in the sea. We were provided with everything we needed, the surf boards and the wet suites and were able to leave all our belongings in the van. It was a very misty day the day we went and we have been told it often is at Venice beach so make sure to bring warm clothes after especially if you’re taking public transport back to Hollywood as it’s a long ride.

Well organized and good communication. Instructor was nice and well informed, lots of excellent advice and opportunities to try surfing. My only complaint was that I was given a surfboard with heavy nose damage that kept flipping me into the water. There was a huge piece sticking up on the deck and another on the bottom of the board.

Spent a great Afternoon learning how to surf ! I thought that 2h would be short! But as a complete beginner it’s perfect ! Instructor was very helpful ! I recommend and I’ll probably take some more lesson next time I’m in LA 🤙

First time surfing ever! During my class I was with 2 others that went surfing for the first time as well. I think it was nice we were just the 3 of us so the surf teacher had enough attention to each one of us. I think the teacher divided equally his time among us
