Day 1 Your journey begins in remarkable fashion as you journey over Africa’s highest mountain pass, the Tizi n'Tichka. From nearly 7,500 feet (2,300 m) above sea level, admire the far-reaching views. Pause at the renowned site of Aït Ben Haddou, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You may also recognise it from some of your favourite film scenes, as Hollywood directors have used it for films like Gladiator, Prince of Persia, and Lawrence of Arabia.

After lunch in Ouarzazate, drive through the beautiful Draa Valley, also known as the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs, along an ancient route linking the coast and desert. Just outside Zagora is your desert camp, where you enjoy a traditional welcome with refreshing mint tea. A tasty dinner of tagine and couscous is the ideal reward after a long day on the road before a comfy night’s sleep under the stars.

Day 2 Following a customary Berber breakfast, make the most of the early start to see the stunning sunrise over the red dunes of Zagora. As you drive back up the road you came in on, there's plenty of time for photo stops at lush oases along the river bed and at the ancient citadel of Tifoulltout Kasbah.
