"The views on the property were amazing. The location was great. The food was great. The staff in the Canopy restaurant/bar were amazing. Beautiful rooms. We loved the property but were disappointed with our check in. Upon arrival, at check in time, we were told it would only be a few minutes. It took almost an hour. That’s not the end of the world but worth mentioning. My biggest concern was cleanliness. On multiple occasions we had to ask for clean silverware as the ones given to us were nasty...

"The rooms were old and needed major upgrades. The beds were ancient. The stairs up and down, little hallways, and more stairs, throughout the hotel were like a maze. The bartenders and wait staff were excellent and the location was good. But there are much better choices for the amount we paid."

"From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with this hotel, grounds and surroundings. From the friendly doorman to Dermot the concierge who took our bags, ordered our taxis etc, to the lovely receptionists and that was before we took in the beautiful decor, comfort and layout of bars and restaurants and before we got to our bedroom which was more like a suite as was huge with a lovely view of the estate. The food was excellent and it was lovely to chill in the little bar area at reception...

"Everything was great. I did not realize this was a B and B when I originally booked this stay so to say it was perfect is an understatement. We arrived late after delays and 35 hours of travel and were welcomed with great hospitality.. The homemade breakfast was delicious and the bed was so comfortable. It is a short drive to all the things in Kilkenny. I would highly recommend. "

"Overall the hotel was good, the only points I would raise are with the room. A big room was allocated with a Queen size double and two singles, presumably a family room. It was at the top of a steep stair, not good for children. The smart TV was so smart it gave you the program it wanted no matter what you selected. The bathroom was fine except for only one hook to hang towels on and the small radiator not fixed to the wall. I would use the hotel again but not in rooms 15 and 16"

"Lovely place, looks unassjming outside but lovely inside. Bar & restaurant area rustic buf deliberately so, as about 500 years old bug ghd rooms were very modern & comfy. Special mention to Chloe who was fantastic in the bar & restaurant."
